William Numa, MD, FACS

Biography

When meeting your plastic surgeon for the first time you want the basics to start: board certified, highly recommended, highly meticulous. Dr. Numa is a double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon who is known by both his patients and colleagues as a surgeon who strives to achieve an aesthetically pleasing, and natural-appearing result in the surgical rejuvenation of the aging face, neck and eyes as well as in rhinoplasty surgery. He arrives at this through a keen sense of aesthetics, as well as meticulously concealing incisions and avoiding unnatural contours and vectors.

He focuses his area of expertise on aesthetic surgery of the face and neck. While his academic background is outstanding, his care in the operating room is extraordinary. Looking at his credentials, you’ll find William Numa, MD, FACS is a double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons as well as Diplomat of the American Academy of Head and Neck Surgery. He completed residency training in head and neck surgery at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, and advanced subspecialty fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Tulane University and the Hedgewood Surgical Center. He maintains an academic affiliation as a Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Eye and Eye Infirmary. He also lectures residents at Tufts University and Boston University Medical School.

Referenced as the doctor who literally wrote the book on rhinoplasty, Dr. Numa is the co-editor of the textbook Master Techniques in Rhinoplasty. He has also authored multiple articles and book chapters on cosmetic facial plastic surgery  and frequently lectures extensively on these subjects.

Dr. Numa is a recipient of the Collin Karmody Resident Achievement Award in recognition of outstanding achievement in head and neck surgery.
